Information[]

The Limestone Ridge, Cliffs and Spires are lootable locations that provide lots of Limestone and Iron Ore, some Common Logs, and lootable items in boxes or bags strewn on the ground. Each has their own threat level, with Limestone Ridge having the lowest. Deer spawn in all three locations.

Limestone Ridge[]

Limestone Ridge has Roaming Zombies, Grey Wolves, and 1-2 Fast Biters. A few Deer spawn here as well. There are always 1-3 loot bags present, with up to 5 items in each box/bag. The loot is usually food in the form of Baked Beans and Bottle of Water, small amounts of low-tier resources, and low drop-rate parts/items. Weapons such as Baseball Bat and Paddle may also appear in the loot bags. Resources that can be found here include Limestone Rocks, Iron Rocks and Dead/Pine Trees. The resources here are spread out, which leaves a lot of open space. Rarely, a Floater Bloater can spawn in this area, and even more rarely, a Diseased Wolf.

Enemies[]

Size:[]

  • 600 units by 600 units, 849 units diagonal
  • Takes 15 seconds to cover the whole length or width with 40 movement speed
    • Takes 21.2 seconds to cover the whole diagonal with same speed

Resources[]

Resources vary, including:

Limestone Cliffs[]

Limestone Cliffs has more Fast Biters, with the added presence of 1-2 Floater Bloaters (There's a pretty low chance of a third), Roaming Zombies. but in significantly less amounts compared to the Fast Biters and Floater Bloaters, 1-2 Toxic Spitters, with higher smell senses and a special attack, and some Rabid Wolves. In addition to Deers, Wild Turkey will spawn. The loot increases to 3-4 bags/boxes. The loot is pretty much the same, although vehicle parts spawn more frequently, with a higher chance that a weapon will be in the loot bags/boxes. There is approximately 5% less Limestone, 500% more Iron Ore deposits, and 10 more Plant Fibers in this area compared to Limestone Ridge. The Big One has a chance to spawn here in extreme cases. There is a chance that a survivor wearing reinforced armor along with a VSS Vintorez spawns as well.

Limestone Spires[]

Limestone Spires has the highest zombie threat out of all 3 Stone and Iron-providing locations. The Big One is known to spawn here, along with a higher count of Floater Bloaters, Fast Biters, and Toxic Spitters. Toxic Abomination spawns here as well and they act like Floater Bloaters with higher smelling sense and higher health. In addition to Deers and Wild Turkeys, Foxes will spawn. The loot here is pretty good compared to the other two Limestone locations, with more vehicle parts (no chopper gas tank or fork) and weapons. Several weapons can spawn in loot boxes such as Katana and even Glock 17. This location has 100% more Limestone, 66% more Iron Ore, and 10 more Plant Fibers compared to Limestone Cliffs.

This location should be for high level players and avoided by beginners because of the amount of zombies present here. The Big One that spawns here sometimes is very hard to avoid and almost impossible to kill even with full high level equipment. AI survivors can spawn equipped with a VSS Vintorez sniper rifle. This makes it hard for beginner players to harvest the red zones. It's recommended to bring higher DPS weapons like firearms. Firearms are useful if 2 or more high health zombies swarm the player instead of melee weapons due to the firearms' higher attack speed. The risk in this area is much higher than the other 2 Limestone zones due to more zombies with higher health and senses. Dying in this zone means you lose everything on your person, including any backpacks and weapons without a chance to recover these items when returning to the zone. Enter this zone at your own risk.

With all these threats, one might wonder why you would want to farm this location. One reason is inside Iron Rock there is a chance to drop 1 Bauxite which can be used to smelt Aluminium Bar in the Melting Furnace.Aluminium Bar allows players to progress into mid-high level play and therefore might be worth the risk.

Trivia and Tips[]

  • Red resource zones like the Limestone Spires have a rare chance to drop C-4 Explosive.
  • The energy required of red zone went from 33 to 35 energy in Beta v.1.11.8
  • The energy required went from 35 to 33 energy in Beta v.1.x.x
  • Running, instead of walking, to the zone may increase the chances of The Big One appearing. The player might be able to keep the chance lower by running to Limestone Cliffs and then walking the remaining time to Limestone Spires as it takes almost 30 minutes to walk there from the home base
