Description[]

The Survivor AI is a human NPC that can spawn at resource zones and some pop-up events including Airdrops, Rest Stops, and the Oak Clearing.

In update Beta v.1.8, AI behavior was revamped to include more realistic behaviors including: attacking, hunting, killing zombies, gathering resources, and running away when injured. Players may now find creatures AI have killed or AI that have been killed.

Survivors show up as fast-moving red indicators on the Minimap, similar to how a Fast Biter or a Grey Wolf/Rabid Wolf runs.

Successfully killing the AI Survivor gives the player rewards, depending on what the Survivor was carrying, and extra items as well, depending on the location. For instance, you can get a Basic Backpack and a Hammer from normal survivors, while in more dangerous zones they can drop a Glock 17, AK-47, Shotgun, M16 or even a VSS Vintorez.

The difficulty and loot of the Survivor is related to the threat level of the map you are currently on.

Despite being portrayed as a human player-controlled character, the AI Survivor is a non-friendly NPC.

There is an AI in the closest Pine Bushes upon starting the game, spawning with 60 Health, with a Chopper Wheel in its inventory.

Grants 100 XP upon death.

AI Bases[]

The Global Map is interspersed with several AI Player Bases, which are named as if they were created by humans. Despite this, these bases are uninhabited and unrelated to AI Survivors, who will not appear at these locations.

Tips[]

  • In update Beta v.1.8, AI behavior was revamped to include more realistic behaviors including: attacking, hunting, killing zombies, gathering resources, and running away when injured. Players may now find creatures AI have killed or AI that have been killed. The update also included more variety in characters' appearance, including skin tone, hair color, and gender.
  • The sounds of tools being worn away and destroyed due to durability are indications of AI gathering resources, as a warning one is nearby.
  • If an AI survivor is gathering wood or stone, they will not attack unless you get too close.
  • Some AI survivors will heal when attacked, consuming any healing items available in their inventory. Unless the AI is killed quickly enough to prevent healing, these items will not be lootable.
  • If an AI survivor is killed by enemies, the enemies will remain alerted and will immediately chase after the nearest target, even if they hadn't previously spotted said target.
